For lovers of extremes in humanity, nature and photography,

This review is from: The Art of Adventure (Paperback)
This is a book of spectacular and inspiring images captured by one of our premier adventure photographers. The text is fairly minimal--just enough to give the reader a fair sense of the lengths to which the photographer has gone to bring us to some of the most remote and precious places on our planet. This book makes an excellent gift for anyone who likes to meditate upon sights and adventures far from our workaday world.

This review is from: The Art of Adventure (Hardcover)
Galen Rowell combined the art of photography with a life of adventure. He seemed a beautiful man who lived a fantastic life with a tragic end. I find his photographs an inspiration and invitation to go out and see the world. His adventure photos are amazing and have the same effect of opening your eyes to the possibilities of life. I think all young people should, at the least, see photos of the wonders out there so that they may get a move on before it's too late.
My only criticism is that one tends to look at these books once and then put them aside. They should belong to a group, rather than one person. |
