Art Blakey jazz history,

Having seen Art's band a number of times in the 60's and 70's I was curious about his place in the scheme of jazz history. I was also friends with his wife.. Atsuko...We had taught equal parts English and Japanese to each other....The book was chronological and uneven in writing styles. It must of been dependent on who Ms. Crouse was interviewing. The latter parts had more depth that the 40's and 50's era. Still a satisfying read....Recommend to fans of his Messenger bands.
