This book actually made learning interesting and not boring! There is also an online site where you can take self quizzes over the chapters to see if you are understanding.

First off, I have to send out a compliment to the seller once again. She was quick and fantastic!
I have hundreds of books. This one is a keeper. I appreciate how well-written this book is. It gives a brief history of art from the beginning of time. I had taken an Art History class, way back in 1974. It was nothing like the class I took this summer, fast, informative and furious. With the help of my professor and this excellent text, I was able to do extremely well in the class.
I would recommend this text to anyone!

Excellent book, carefully prepared and edited, nice glossery and references cited. Generously loaded with prints, sidebars, diagrams and websites for further information noted. Highly recommend it not only as a college text for Art History but also for art lovers in general, very easily read and understood by average lay person. Adequately covers information so if a later edition is required by an instructor there is little to no gap in instructional material, a real savings for needy students trying to save a few dollars.

Excellent art history book! Easy to understand and the way it is written makes it easy to learn about each period in art history. I love that it focus on certain important and key images, and explains more about this items.

Had to buy this for a class, but it actually is a pretty interesting book. Being an art history book, of course it has many nice illustrations.

This text book was listed as used, but appeared to be brand new when it arrived. It arrived quickly, in plenty of time for classes. Won't hesitate to order again! Thanks!

A fantastic history book. I am the type that easily get tired of long descriptions of events happening years ago. But this book gives me the choice to either just read the overview or more about stories behind different pieces and methods in which they are created. Will certainly recommend to art students. Lots of great pictures.

This is a great book on World History through the Arts and Minds of Artists throughout the ages. The author has provided a scaled down version of another book of Art. This is a heavy book to carry, not recommended for pregnant mothers or people with bad backs. Maybe it's not that bad, but it is loaded with creativity and passion. This book covers sculptors, painters, pencil artists, stain glass, plaster and paint, the entire gammit of creation has been expounded in this edition. Having visited many Museum's such as the Louvre, the MET, palaces in Germany, castles in Italy, Historical Ruins around the globe. This is an excellent book, bringing back some of these memories. I really enjoyed this study.

This is a well made book, the paper is nice and thick so the pages don't rip. The content is great! It even keeps a computer geek interested. :)
