lost album,
By Graceannsmith "Graceannsmith" (Washington, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: A Arte de Caetano Veloso (Audio CD)
This is one of my favorite albums ever. I've had much trouble trying to locate it. It's one of the first tropicalia albums ever released, who knows maybe even the first. The rythms go from energetic to downright hypnotic at times. Veloso has seeemingly mastered Tibetan Singing at some moments and sounds as romantic as Elvis in the Incredible song "Baby." I hope to see this album make a come back in the future.

A VERY FINE COMPILATION OF CAETANO EARLY YEARS,
By Paulo Br (Sao Paulo Brazil) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Art of Caetano Veloso (Audio CD)
This record is in fact a compilation of this great brazilian composer in his early years ( 1967/1974) which includes serveral "tropicália" classics like "Superbacana" , "Baby" and "Não Identificado", as weel as some songs that he recorded in the early 70's while exiled in London. The own composer do not consider his english songs from that period as classics, but some rarities listened here mostly extracted from singles, made this a very fine compilation (E.G.: Samba Suor e Cerveja). If you alredy have a colection of his later years, you may find it very interesting.
