Book Description

September 8, 2005
A great chopper is not built - it is created. It begins as the seed of an idea germinating in the mind of its creator. Bit by bit, the builder brings the machine to life, raking and stretching the frame, fabricating fenders and a gas tank, applying exquisite paint, sculpting something that lives and breathes on its own. Choppers, one of the most enduring symbols from the 1960s, are more prevalent than ever. First published in 2003 to great acclaim, and reissued here in a glorious deluxe edition, Art of the Chopper profiles twenty of today's top chopper builders. Through an extensive colour photo gallery of each builder's creations, author and photographer Tom Zimberoff provides an in-depth analysis of that builder's design philosophies and unique style. Art of the Chopper celebrates these timeless machines and the artists who build them.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words, January 18, 2004
This review is from: Art of the Chopper (Hardcover)
My husband and I were at an Easy Rider custom motorcycle show
in Sacramento. As we were leaving, I stopped to talk with Tom
Zimberoff - I did not realize at the time just how talented this man is - wish that I had, I'd still be there talking to him!

Photography is an art and this photographer is truly an artist! He uses all of the technology available, plus his eye for the perfect shot, and produces a wonderful book full of photos and stories about the icons of the custom motorcycle business. Custom motorcycles are a fascinating subject, Tom Zimberoff adds the icing to the cake with his talent.

Anyone even slightly imterested in motorcycles will love this
book, I did!!

Melissa C (New Orleans, LA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Art of the Chopper (Hardcover)
I saw this book on another website and bought it off of Amazon.com and could not be more pleased with it. There are beautiful pictures of choppers and short interview stories to go with each builder. Tom Zimberoff is awesome! I even have my book signed by a few of the bikers. This book is a must buy if you like choppers.
