5.0 out of 5 stars Very helpful for teachers of young children!, November 2, 1998
By A Customer
This book guides early childhood educators through the concept of implementing early childhood art into their classrooms. It is very helpful in showing teachers how to focus on the "process" not the "product". There are also many wonderful ideas for special needs children, and for adding multicultural art experiences into the classroom.

5.0 out of 5 stars excellent resource for teachers and to-be teachers!!, October 22, 2005
I am taking a class right now about the art expereinces of young children and this is the required text for the class. I must say the book is very impressing. It goes quite into detail about the vast benefits of art for young children and also the developmental stages and such. The great thing about this book is that in each chapter it has TONS of projects and ideas that you can implement in your classroom in the future. There are also lots of recipes for several types of playdough (edible, smelly, etc.) and other things. It's such a great resource...I'm not selling this book back! :-)
The book is also an easy read for those who hate reading textbooks. Half of each chapter is filled with ideas and such which probably are not neccessary when you read the chapter unless of course your teacher/professor will test you over them which mine does not. Anyways I highly reccommend the book to those in the early childhood art field right now. All the ideas in the book make it very worthwhile. I can't wait to graduate so I can use it in my own classroom! ^_^

I purchased this book for a class I am taking. This book is a good resource, and I plan to keep it after I've finished my class. It contains a lot of examples of projects that you can do with children of various ages. There is also an emphasis on safety and age appropriateness.
