this album will make you shoot someone........., February 20, 2005

I picked this CD up a couple of weeks ago, and I feel dumb that I waited so long to check it. Gore's album is probably my favorite out of the three solo joints. I played the ish out of "Whats Wrong With Bill?", but didn't like Sabac's album that much at all, so I was a little unsure how this album would sound. My personal opinion is Bills album was probably the illest lyrical wise, but the beats Necro gave Goretex out shine anything on Bill's joint. The title track "Art of Dying" starts this CD off and gives you a good feel for what your instore for, the next few songs are nice but didn't stick out much at first, the next track that really grabbed me was "Momentary Lapse of Reason", thats probably one of the illest beats Necro has ever done. "Celebrity Roast" is pretty brutal and hilarious at the same time. The whole album is sick, any goons out there that haven't picked this up need to make sure you cop this ish ASAP, this is goonism at its finest.

Necro did great production on this album. The beats are all awesome. Goretex is a pretty good rapper aswell, his voice is really angry sounding. He is pretty good lyrically aswell, like he talks about other stuff than violence, sex and drugs. This is a great album and i highly recommend it to any fan of death rap.

Interesting but Nahhh......., October 29, 2004

Well the beats are heavily raw on this one.. From the get-go u get bumpy instrumentals that are more thicker than a BK Milkshake...Gore keeps the delivery dapper with his raspy Mexican/Italian drawl. "Born of Fire" was my favorite cut in this album, in where the Necro beat flows fluid (though we all getting a lil tired of the same ol type sound after 5 other releases by the same producer) and Gore does his thang. Lyrically, he doesn't nor does any other of the goons pack punch like Ill Bill and Necro... Honestly, they just don't contain the charisma and addictive flow talent like the 2 dimented characters mentioned b4. But, nothing wrong with wanting to drop your own LP and observing how it does out there... Umm, it's a solid album,,,,,BUT it sure ain't anything impressive.. Just your avg. CD for these avg. days......
