5.0 out of 5 stars Understand the basics and yourself, December 12, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: The Art of Electronic Futures Trading: Building a Winning System by Avoiding Psychological Pitfalls (Hardcover)
This book hit the nail on the head for me. I have always doubted whether I knew enough and could trust myself enough to risk my own money trading. Trading is a lonely endeavor and Kaiser and Green laid out the plan for me and helped me understand that it is o.k. not to have all the answers and if I know enough about myself to trust my own decision making. I took their test (several times) and confirmed that I am an emotional second-guesser and that an off the shelf black box system won't work for me. I need to be involved, win, lose or scratch. Their discussion of basic market analysis and useful tools was clear and, again, helped me feel comfortable using my own analysis to make my own decisions. I recommend this book to anyone who wants to trade and feel confident that their decision making is as valid as anyone else's.

This book starts out with the history of CME and progresses evenly into the future of electronic trading. Speaks in layman terms, concise and flows smoothly for the non-professional trader. The question and answer section was extremely helpful and interesting. A necessary handbook for anyone looking to become an effective screen trader.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Starting Place, January 9, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: The Art of Electronic Futures Trading: Building a Winning System by Avoiding Psychological Pitfalls (Hardcover)
I started trading while in college (my grades suffered along with my trading)and wish I would have taken the time for find a good primer like this one. The most important thing to be gained from this book is a basic understanding of the technicals and an appreciation for knowing yourself. This isn't navel gazing, but solid, no nonsense take a look at yourself and don't try to be a super trader. Be yourself and prosper.
