Fantastic Cimbalom music by a premier artist,
By Debbie Jackson (Oregon) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Art of Gipsy Cimbalom (Audio CD)
Having had the privilege of hearing Kalman Balough perform in a live informal setting, I was unable to resist purchasing this album. Cimbalom music is quite unusual, being a struck instrument, and Kalman is absolutely wonderful. Hungarian folk music is represented here by one of the best!

sweet and soft,
By Erik (Portland, OR) - See all my reviews

For beautiful relaxing music this is an excellent album. It has a Hungarian/Balkan flavor but done with the soft sweet sounds of the cimbalom, a beautiful instrument. It sounds similar to Persian santur music.

Awesome Cimbalom Music,
By DKNY music (Allegheny College) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Art of Gipsy Cimbalom (Audio CD)
This is a great CD and it makes me proud to say that I am Hungarian. I actually had the chance to meet Kalman when I was young. He came over my parent's apartment to have lunch with us and he played games with me (I was very little) while we were waiting for lunch to be ready to be served. Not only is he super talented, but a great guy. If you want authentic Hungarian music, this is a CD you must have in your Hungarian music collection.
