I loved this little book. I read it through very quickly, though it was packed with great info and tips. It actually got me out and about every morning, painting little postcard sized paintings. If you've wanted to try sketching and painting on location, this will help you get started.

We amateurs are always scared of trying to draw or paint in public but this handy book helps you to not feel''odd'' in doing this.The essential lesson, as in so many aspects of artistry, is don't hesitate get stuck into it. When you can gather the courage to do this it is very liberating. At the same time you increase the pressure on yourself to really get it right and hence achieve a degree of self improvement. I carry this book on holiday to stop self doubt and provide tips on how to proceed. In summary it is an inspiring little book and the postcard idea is great too. I've sent 4 postcards and all recipients have framed them saying that they have great life in the paintings. Harry Clarke.
