5.0 out of 5 stars Creation through the Lens of the Bible
If there were no words in Ric's book, his breathtakingly beautiful photographs would speak eloquently enough of the glory of our Creator. Ric's prose artistry, however, helps the reader really "see" what he or she is looking at. 3.0 out of 5 stars A fair effort from a fine photographer
Familiar as I am with the photographers' work, I was disappointed overall with this debut which offers a study of scripture illustrated by nature photographs. It is a book that deserved MUCH better production than it received. For the price, theArt of God is a decent gift, but if you want to see what it could and should have been like, for such a lofty theme, check out...

5.0 out of 5 stars ...The Skies proclaim the work of His hands -- Psalm 19, October 29, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: The Art of God (Hardcover)
Discovered this book this week. Can't speak too highly of it.

A large and profoundly beautiful book. A soul-stirring masterpiece. I have never seen anything quite like it.

God reached out and changed the heart of this gifted photographer. This magnificent marriage of landscape and scripture is the result. The narrative is soothing, deep and artfully crafted.

God is glorified here in these pages as His Creation is showcased thru the lens of biblical Christianity.

5.0 out of 5 stars THE ART OF GOD - Ric Ergenbright, October 25, 1999

"Thoreau said, "Read the best books first," and were he alive today I think he would list "THE ART OF GOD" as one of those books; and with it Ric Ergenbright can claim his position as one of the world's great landscape photographers: Ansel Adams would surely welcome him into the "f/64 Club" in a heartbeat. But equal to the stunning photography is the almost autobiographical prose which seamlessly equates the words of the Scriptures to its beautiful imagery. If you can dream of a world you've never seen before, "THE ART OF GOD" will open the door; and the real beauty is, one the book speaks to on every page, its right here on Earth. "THE ART OF GOD" is an absolute masterpiece."

5.0 out of 5 stars The Art of God, August 11, 2000
This review is from: The Art of God (Hardcover)
I came across this book while looking for a gift for a friend. I wanted a book that would show the glory of God but would also use the powerful Word of God. I was astounded by the impact this book has in both photography and the use of God's Word. I bought the only book in the store, ordered another one (so I could have one for myself) and will probably give this as a Christmas gift to most of my family and friends. Are any of these photographs available in poster format? I would love to hang some of these on my walls, with the verse from God's Word included. Many thanks to the author for loving God and using your gifts and talents to glorify Him.

5.0 out of 5 stars Superb, November 1, 2000

This book is full of treats. Not only does it contain breathtaking pictures of God's artistic talent, but the photographer even gives details about how he took each shot. The back of the book is filled with what camera, filter, and setting he used. This is a must have for your coffee table. If you don't have a coffee table, you will want to get one!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Modern Paradise, May 5, 2006
This review is from: The Art of God (Hardcover)
Eden may be lost, but Ergenbright's insightful eye for beauty proves that much of paradise is still to be found. Amazingly beautiful nature photographs of every element can be found in this book: skies, bodies of water, cliffs, and even lava flows present the viewer with beauty that only a Supreme God could create. Ergenbright's modest introduction in the beginning of the book and his Biblical passages leave no doubt in regards to his devotion to God as the true artist here, but Ergenbright's own artistic talents certainly cannot be overlooked! I'm a huge lover of beautiful art and Ergenbright's uplifting Christian messages greatly added to the peacefulness of his breathtaking images, luring me into a state of blissful lethargy. This book is truly a wonderful testament of nature's beauty and I recommend it even if you are not a Christian; everyone can appreciate the beauty here, no matter what faith they are.

"Intimations" is the book "Art of God " should have been.

This review is from: The Art of God (Hardcover)
The Art of God by ric Ergenbgight is my most favorite book after the Bible. Even people who do not know Jesus can appreciate the beauty found in this book through the outstanding nature scenes that were photographed all over the world. Mr. Ergenbright is truly gifted by God to bring to life in paper form all of these magnificent places.
