Amazing reference book...Creative Color Placement,
By
This review is from: The Art of Hair Colouring (Hardcover)
I bought this book for my employee's to look at in my salon...I had no idea what an amazing reference book this would be...The girls immediately got excited and couldn't believe all the great color and foil techniques..Sooo much fun and is a must have for any stylist or salon owner. Really is a great all around book for color correction and many color placement ideas...great investment...I wish there were more books out there like this one..Which is so reasonably priced..A+

I'm a cosmetology student who has had a few months of "basic" hair colouring. This book gave me some new ideas and tools to expand my knowledge. I highly recommend it!

This book really helped me. Before I missed out on a lot of information covering toners and the law of colours.

I have worked with David Adams before and was excited to learn some more of his highly coveted techniques and tips from this book (he's a master colorist & insanely talented stylist).
I was very disappointed in this book. The information is outdated and the pages even looked like they were discolored from the age of the book. As a professional stylist/colorist I didn't learn anything new from this book (covered basics learned in beauty school) and the styles were straight out of 1990's B-movie. Unfortunately, I was unable to return since it was delivered late and I was out of town for several weeks. This book is definitely not worth the money or time to read. I wish it had been more clear how dated this publication was and how basic the information was in it.

this book wasn't exactly what i was looking for it has 27 different color techniques in it, it had a few ideas that i liked that i might try, however a lot of the book was ether the very basic stuff like how to do an all over color, or off the wall things that i wouldn't want to try on any one.
the good thing about this book is that it is step by step so you can see how to do each thing however i think the end result pictures might have been better if the hair styles, and picture angles where made in a way that i could see the results more clearly. also i was hoping to get more information about toning hair and color correcting it had very little. it's an okay book, i like it fine just not what i had in mind for info i was looking for. |
