I hadn't heard of this movie before, but decided to watch it on a whim. I saw "greenberg" a while ago, and fell in love with Greta Gerwig. So I decided to see all her movies. And "Art House" definitely stands out as one of the best.

It's your typical scenario - College Dean wants to take free housing away from the protagonist. BUT, it's done in a lovely, subtle way. Kind of a Wes Anderson version of "Animal House." I really enjoyed it.

Greta is great, as usual. But Iggy Pop is also in the movie. He only has 2 or 3 scenes, but is so great in all of them. And there's a new actor, Chris Beier, who I hadn't heard of before. He plays Greta's boyfriend (sort of) and steals the show! Not only attractive, he's funny and maintains the perfect level of dead-pan subtlety for the genre.

Highly recommended!

This movie was filmed in my old house! I was hoping it would be sweet, and I must say, for a low budget college flick, it fills the bill pretty well. It definitely feels like life at black elk...errr I mean art house.
