Book Description

0787270687 978-0787270681 June 2000 2
Now in its fourth edition, this classic text presents a comprehensive overview of client-centred hypnosis based on the teachings of Charles Tebbetts. Since the person undergoing hypnosis is the one with the power to change him/herself, the hypnotherapist acts as the facilitator, tailoring the hypnosis session to the client. All of the techniques found in The Art of Hypnotherapy, including regression therapy and parts theory, centre on this concept. The Art of Hypnotherapy shows students how all hypnotic techniques revolve around four main therapeutic objectives: Suggestion and Imagery; Discover the Cause; Release; and Subconscious Relearning. New features in this edition include an arrangement of techniques from simple to complex, so that those using hypnosis in a limited way easily learn the applicable technique; a chapter on the common application of hypnotherapy now includes new sections on anger, impotence, stuttering, and tinnitus, and the chapters on anchoring and triggers have been updated, with sections on how to help a client establish a safe place, and why this is important.

Review

Roy Hunter's text is a masterful presentation of the fundamentals as well as advanced techniques of clinical hypnotherapy. I highly recommend it for the beginner as well as the experienced hypnotherapist. --Pamela Winkler, PhD, President of St. John's University

The chapter on regression techniques is so complete that it is a mini training course in the art of safe and competent hypnotic regression. And as if that was not enough, the chapter contains a step-by-step guide to take the reader from start to finish of a professional therapy. Chock full of the sort of wisdom that can only come from a well-spring of clinical experience, this is an eminently must-read book. --Terence Watts, Founder, Assocation of Professional Hypnosis and Psychotherapy, UK

5.0 out of 5 stars In-depth introducion to hypnotherapy for the professional, August 9, 2007
By
Dave H (Minnesota and Florida) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Art of Hypnotherapy: Part II of Diversified Client-Centered Hypnosis, Based on the Teachings of Charles Tebbetts (Paperback)
This is the companion volume to C Roy Hunter's excellent introduction to hypnosis, the Art of Hypnosis. Although it can be read on it's own, parts of this book are more understandable if you have already read the Art of Hypnosis. Hunter has an informal, first-person style of writing that makes the book enjoyable to read. This book is an excellent reference for both beginning and experienced hypnotherapists that is packed with philosophy, strategies, techniques, and scripts. It is intended for professionals and is probably not appropriate for someone who is only casually interested in hypnosis.

5.0 out of 5 stars Must Have Book for the Hypnotherapist, December 30, 2002
This review is from: The Art of Hypnotherapy: Part II of Diversified Client-Centered Hypnosis, Based on the Teachings of Charles Tebbetts (Paperback)
At the Banyan Hypnosis Center for Training & Services, Inc. I recommend this book along with Mr. Hunter's book, The Art of Hypnosis, to all of our students. It provides a wealth of hypnotherapeutic techniques. It is a true "hand book" of hypnotherapy. If you practice (or intend to practice) hypnotherapy your library is not complete without this book.

4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty good, less info then I hoped for, March 3, 1999
By
Alot of the information was about hypnotism, instead of on it. I suggest purchasing another book along with it to augment your knowledge on the subject before practicing on anybody.
