About the Author
John Bolton spends his days locked inside his eerie, prop-and-dead-bug-filled studio in London, England. After receiving his diploma in illustration and design, he contributed to all kinds of famous (and infamous) British magazines, and was subsequently commissioned to produce covers and artwork for book publishers. John began working in comics making an early impact on the US market in 1980. An award-winning artist who has worked on graphic novels with such notable creators as Chris Claremont, Neil Gaiman, Clive Barker, Sam Raimi, Anne Rice to name just a few, he has handled assignments for every major publisher in the comics field. John's ethereal vampire-women and magical creatures have made his work much sought after by collectors.
John's interest in the stylish and bizarre elements of the horror / fantasy genres is evident throughout his work. His cover artwork features some of the most recognizable and distinctive designs in comic-book history. John has been painting now for two decades. His paintings display a thorough understanding of each medium and subject he chooses to tackle, which in the hands of a lesser artist might lead to over slickness or repetition. A master of color, he evocatively combines unusual shades to create mystical, other-worldly and intensely personal atmospheres.
He currently has his own international fan club and magazine.
