5.0 out of 5 stars fantastic lessons & solos (drums, gongs): essential!, December 17, 2007

This review is from: Art & Joy of Hand Drumming [VHS] (VHS Tape)
Demonstrates methods of playing (with hands) the bodhran (Irish drum), kanjira (South Indian drum), tunable frame drum, quinto (conga drum from traditional Latino music) & sogo (from Ewe music of Ghana), tambourine, kendang (Balinese drum), and Indonesian "boss" gongs. Fantastic demonstrations and solos, great photography and clear to follow. Next best thing to seeing him in person (or even better since you get close-ups and can hit 'repeat' a hundred times. Essential viewing for all percussionists!
