Book Description

October 15, 2004
This interactive devotional is for the person who isn't satisfied with a dry faith. If you're dying to hear God's voice, the good news is that you can! Jesus is the door, and He has opened Himself up to you.

A personal relationship with God. What does it really mean? If God loves His people, couldn't it be that He desires to speak one-on-one with us? If so, wouldn't our first priority be to learn how to hear from Him?

It's one of the most important questions of our lives. Yet many of us settle for a one-way, humdrum monologue, in which we do all the talking and give God no time to speak back.

This interactive devotional is for the person who isn't satisfied with a dry faith. If you're dying to hear God's voice, the good news is that you can!

Explore what it means to experience prayer that really is two-way. Using the Bible as a foundation, you can go way beyond theory and grow in the practice of listening prayer. This devotional will help you do it.

3.0 out of 5 stars The Art of Listening Prayer...A Good Practical Tool, February 17, 2005
This review is from: The Art of Listening Prayer: Finding God's Voice Amidst Life's Noise (Paperback)
It is exciting to think of what the church could accomplish if we truly spent time not only listening for God's voice in our daily lives, but actually doing what He asks of us!!! The Art of Listening Prayer is an excellent beginning tool for Christians who are interested in really learning how to hear God's voice. The book provides practical methods for focusing prayer time so that personal prayer time becomes more than simply a time of petitioning God for a list of needs and wants. For a well-rounded practical and scripturally based understanding of hearing God's voice, the interested reader would be well-advised to use The Art of Listening Prayer in conjunction with Blackaby's Experiencing God workbook.

5.0 out of 5 stars An essential primer for learning to converse with God, December 7, 2004
This review is from: The Art of Listening Prayer: Finding God's Voice Amidst Life's Noise (Paperback)
Since the fall, God's passion has been to restore the personal relationship with His ultimate creation, man (and woman). Like all good relationships, they require good communication. So many Christians have treated prayer as a monologue, but many have discovered that God desires to speak to us as well, through the scriptures, experience, events, through our hearts and minds. Seth Barnes has discovered this secret in his own life and shares his story(s) in this essential primer on The Art of Listening prayer. For those Christians who struggle with the idea that they can actually converse with the creater of the universe, this book is for you.
