This book was not what I expected: not in color, cheap paper quality for inside pages.

I bought this book to help me prepare for my National Board Assessment Center exercise in Art. It was very helpful to me as I am in a school district that places NO emphasis on art and it had been years since I really thought about how to use art in the classroom. Not only did the book help me in my test preparation, it also made me think about how I can use art in my classroom to enhance learning.

Art Matters provides an excellent basis for integrated learning in education. Through each stage, it provides clear and constructive methods of linking Art content with other subjects in the school curriculum. Often Art teachers do not have time to work with teachers of other subjects in building units of work where subjects are well planned and thoughtfully connected - and this book does this so well.

If you teach Art, then you need this book. "Art Matters" is a companion book for "Art Is Fundamental". Both books are wonderful, packed with a wealth of information necessary to teach Art to young people.

I was a student of hers in Indianapolis for 7 years. She was a fantastic instructor, and I'm sure this book will be a great resource for other instructors.

Needed this book for class. The teacher is awful, but the text book is not.
