5.0 out of 5 stars SIMPLY SENSATIONAL!
You know the story: My girlfriend and I just broke up, and I'm having a hard time meeting new women. After so many of my friends told me I HAD to get this book, I finally did. My friends didn't overestimate the value of this terrific book--there's a ton of great information about ourselves and our community. I thoroughly enjoyed it, and I thank Ms. Sacks for...

this book took me about 15 mins to read, and another 15 mins to re-list for sale as used. this is not a collection of methods and techniques for meeting women with similar interests, as the title implies. it is merely an ink-and-paper 'warm fuzzy', full of up-beat exhortations to just keep your chin up, and don't stop trying, girl! at one point, the author suggests...

My friends didn't overestimate the value of this terrific book--there's a ton of great information about ourselves and our community. I thoroughly enjoyed it, and I thank Ms. Sacks for offering real solutions to a very real problem for all gay women. I really believe that if every lesbian read this book, we would be much more friendly toward and loving with each other. Go get one for yourself and a friend!

5.0 out of 5 stars An Enlightening Experience, October 5, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: The Art of Meeting Women: A Guide for Gay Women (Paperback)
I decided to read this book because I, like so many of my friends, was just so darn frustrated in the lesbian dating scene. I didn't realize how many of my unsatisfying experiences had to do with me. Ms. Sacks has wonderful insight--she has obviously been there--and great, practical suggestions on meeting like-minded women. I feel better about myself and our community from reading this book. It was a very enlightening experience. I have recommended this book to 4 of my friends, and I recommend it to you.

5.0 out of 5 stars I LOVED IT!, February 23, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: The Art of Meeting Women: A Guide for Gay Women (Paperback)
I promised myself I would not spend another Valentine's Day alone. I got the book and read it from cover to cover. I thoroughly enjoyed it! The best parts are the step-by-step suggestions on where to meet compatible women and how to comfortably approach them. Talking to women in lesbian bars will never intimidate me again! I have recommended it to all of my single friends.

I just wanted to tell all of you that this amazing book works! I tried some of Rhona's suggestions yesterday at a friend's birthday party, and I never met so many women in one night in my life. I can't say enough great things about this great book. Easy to read, easy to use, and easy to get results--just terrific!

This review is from: The Art of Meeting Women: A Guide for Gay Women (Paperback)
After reading the February review about not spending another Valentine's Day alone, I decided I wasn't going to spend another Gay Pride Day alone. This FABULOUS book has given me courage to go out and take a risk...everything I need to know about where to go and what to do to meet the right women for me is in here! Fun to read and right on with its understanding of the lesbian community. I thoroughly enjoyed it. With The Art of Meeting Women as my guide, I'm ready!!

this book took me about 15 mins to read, and another 15 mins to re-list for sale as used. this is not a collection of methods and techniques for meeting women with similar interests, as the title implies. it is merely an ink-and-paper 'warm fuzzy', full of up-beat exhortations to just keep your chin up, and don't stop trying, girl! at one point, the author suggests that you approach an attractive woman in a bar, and introduce yourself. duh, had that not occurred to anyone before Sacks? if this had been a step-by-step how-to book for building a garage onto your house, it would have gone something like this: "Get a lot of bricks. Stick them together. Now, pull that car in, girl! Don't worry if a few dozen of 'em hit the hood of your new Volvo. You just keep parking in there, girl! Remind yourself that you have a right to park in there, and don't let that garage make you feel bad for doing it!" maybe she should have titled it "Lesbian Dating for Shut-Ins".

5.0 out of 5 stars WONDERFUL, June 14, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: The Art of Meeting Women: A Guide for Gay Women (Paperback)
I got this book for myself in honor of gay pride, and I'm so glad I did. It's just wonderful--filled with easy-to-follow suggestions and smart insight about our lesbian world. The day I got it, I promised myself I would go to a gay pride event and use some of the ideas to meet women. I have to tell you that it worked! I felt less anxious, more self-confident, and I actually met some nice women. Amazing! The book is certainly about how to meet women, but it's also about understanding yourself. I recommend it highly-- Happy Gay Pride!

5.0 out of 5 stars The best Lesbian book I've ever read., July 7, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: The Art of Meeting Women: A Guide for Gay Women (Paperback)
I think this book is terrific, especially being single, but even if I wasn't. The book was full of suggestions (really great suggestions, not just lip service) on so many aspects of being a Lesbian. It seemed like every word in the book was written especially for me. And that sure doesn't happen offen in this world. I really recommend this book to any Lesbian, single or not... but definately if you are single.
