When you look at Chinese characters you can see how a calligraphized art form would spring forth. There have been some who see stories in the characters themselves, such as a creation story. The book begins with a brief ools and Materials you will need?section. After that the author offers an A to Z example of five name painting styles: Butterfly, Dolphin, Dragon, Bird, and Panda. One page has examples of girls names (Rachel, Megan, Julia, Sarah, Grace, Alexis, Emily, Lauren, Ashley, and Olivia) and one page with sample boys names (Jack, Andrew, Ethan, Brian, Taylor, Joshua, David, Jordan, Daniel, and Dylan). At the end is one page for notes. At the start of each A to Z display of styles is a listing of tools and a brief note of technique. The style sections are color coded so if you are looking for dragon letters you thumb through the pages with red edges, or thumb through the blue-edge pages for dolphins. This book, together with How to Name Paint, will start you on a new journey into a new hobby and art form. --Bookideas.com
