More About the Author

I began repping artists in San Francisco in 1986. As I trekked the pavement to introduce my group of five artists to art professionals and business owners, I met many artists who wanted to be repped. Realizing I could not rep them all, and that they needed to learn to do it themselves, I began composing reports on topics of art marketing. These eventually developed into a book, A Handbook for Artists which later became Art Marketing 101 after many revises. I started traveling the country giving art marketing seminars. I decided to find some authors on a few more art-related business topics. We now have six books that ArtNetwork publishes.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very helpful and precise, December 27, 2007
This review is from: Art Office, Second Edition: 80+ Business Forms, Charts, Sample Letters, Legal Documents & Business Plans (Art Office: 80+ Business Forms, Charts, Sample Letters, Legal) (Paperback)
It is precisely what is needed and so easy to use especially for artists venturing out into their own business. It's a great business resource for organizing, selling, marketing and simply learning how to get out there and get noticed as a serious artist! Looking professional is the first step and this book focuses on that.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good form, March 2, 2009

This review is from: Art Office, Second Edition: 80+ Business Forms, Charts, Sample Letters, Legal Documents & Business Plans (Art Office: 80+ Business Forms, Charts, Sample Letters, Legal) (Paperback)
This book has some really good links for websites, as well as forms- I use them a lot, whether they're contracts, sales agreements or what not, they're nice to make copies of and have on hand.
It also includes goal-making, which is good, because that was the last thing I was thinking of, as well as show planning and how to do the p.r. for it.
I ended up buying a 2nd one to give to my sister/art manager.
