The pendulum is nice and the cards are indeed pretty. However, the cards are also frustrating in their design. For example, some of the cards have the potential answers printed on the *same* trajectory. On the Divine Timing card, "Now" is on the left and "Later" is on the right. The "Art of the Pendulum"

In a world that has become more complex and frosted with ambiguity, to be able to access the divine message, what we call "intuitive knowledge" is of the utmost importance.

Knowing how to use the pendulum is part and parcel of the retrieval of the universal knowledge that comes from the universal energy.

Energy medicine as well as other fields of endeavor such as quantum physics rely on the ability to access the universal knowledge. When used properly, the pendulum adds invaluable information.

I have used the pendulum for many years for my own personal needs until I became confident of its divination capacity. Recently, within the past year, I have begun to give it the proper place in my practice. This brought back to my memory the events of ten years ago when one of my nurses used to consult the pendulum to check the correctness of the nutritional programs I used to prescribe. I was then solely using my left brain and she would validate or invalidate its correctness with the pendulum. When she finally shared that with me, rather than getting offended, I became curious and started to experiment with it myself and, to my great surprise, I often found that my prescriptions yielded better results. I also had the opportunity to compare my findings with that of a large computer that we had in our Huntington office. The Enclosion did what, in fact, the pendulum now does in a much simpler way. I will be forever grateful to Barbara S. for opening my mind to the use of the pendulum. In order to use the pendulum, one has to be very balanced and unbiased, that is essential. The book The Art of the Pendulum offers an array of pertinent information and delightful pictures to use to train in the art of pendulum. It is a primer that I truly recommend. I did, in fact, purchase one myself about six months ago to see if it gave valuable information and I enjoyed reading it and learned a few more things. The book comes with a very fine pendulum and the set of decorative cards to sharpen your skills. Its attractive packaging, designed by its author (who has the added attribute of being a very fine artist) adds to the pleasure of this new venture.

I am certain that you will find The Art of the Pendulum as useful and appealing as I did.

This is a wonderfully crafted, beautifully illustrated kit for using the power of the pendulum to uncover what is true for each of us. From the gorgeous cards, each designed to be used for specific types of questions or issues , to the box the kit comes in (which has an effortless magnetic closure) , The Art Of The Pendulum is very well thought out and of high quality- and at a great price! The enclosed book explains all you might require to use the pendulum in the kit to seek your own answers. And it's a great conversation piece-I keep it on my coffee table and everyone who sees it wants to try it! I'm buying more to give as gifts to my family and friends.

For example, some of the cards have the potential answers printed on the *same* trajectory. On the Divine Timing card, "Now" is on the left and "Later" is on the right. If the pendulum swings toward you, you get no answer at all. If it swings side to side, just which of those two answers do you get? Both, really. The book doesn't indicate what to do in this kind of situation, so I'm assuming this is a glaring design flaw. Too bad, too, because it would've been nice if *all* the cards were useful.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Great Book For New Dowsers, January 19, 2010

This review is from: The Art of the Pendulum (Paperback)
The Art of the Pendulum, by Maxi Cohen is an excellent book for those who are new to using a pendulum, as well as experienced users of the pendulum. The case is a thick carboard box with a magnetic lid that keeps the box closed. Inside is one pendulum, a booklet on how to use the pendulum, and 12 cards to use in answering questions with the pendulum.

I would give this set 4 out of 5 stars. The pendulum itself doesn't feel energetic in my hands. I tend to get bored with it, unlike when I use my favorite pendulum. I'm sure that if you bless it, the energy bond between you and the pendulum will grow over time.

The booklet is a quick read, and cuts to the chase about how to use the pendulum. It tells you what you need to know, and is easy to keep you interested. What I like most about this set, is the cards. Each card has either letters, numbers, or words that you can use to answer a question. On the back of each card it describes what type of question it can be used for. All-in-all, for the price you can buy it for, this book is a good value. I would highly recommend this set for those who are new to using a pendulum

5.0 out of 5 stars The Best Way to Buy A Pendulum! WOW this is great!, December 29, 2008
This review is from: The Art of the Pendulum (Paperback)
For less than the price of the pendulum, I bought this kit which contains a great pendulum, plus a booklet on its history and use and very beautiful cards which makes it easier to use the pendulum, than figuring out which way is yes and which way is no for oneself. The cards are so lovely, I sometimes put one on my altar when I am trying to decide something. It is a perfect gift because the price is right, it is interactive and fun, and mostly VERY USEFUL. I use it to figure out supplements - what to take when - as well as difficult issues. My doctor recommended this to me. It has certainly cut down on the anxiety of decision making.

3.0 out of 5 stars Waiting for the revision, November 13, 2009
This review is from: The Art of the Pendulum (Paperback)
I have been an avid pendulum user for nearly 30 years now and I believe I've read just about every book on the subject. I am a huge fan of various charts and actually picked this up in a Borders bookstore. I was very excited to see what types of charts were with this kit. Finally a set of cards for pendulum users. To say the least, it wasn't what I expected.

The pendulum was okay and I expected a basic pendulum, which is fine and a great starter pendulum for beginners. But what disappointed me were the cards themselves. For the price, I truly figured to have a variety of usable card. I figured that each card would've been a little more in depth. But I think the author was using each card to go for more a new artsy type approach as opposed to something solid. This might confuse beginning pendulum users who need a set of straight forward YES/NO, Numbers, Alphabet charts, etc. I wanted something I could use, but for now, I'll stick with my other sets.

I don't like giving low reviews at all, and my purpose here isn't intended on hurting the author. I am hoping this inspires the author to redesign, or possibly add some more cards to the deck that are a bit more in-depth and usable. If a newer version is released, I'll put my faith into the author and buy the new set on the hopes that it has been updated well:)

5.0 out of 5 stars Asking the right questions, March 31, 2009
By
This review is from: The Art of the Pendulum (Paperback)
This is a very clear explanation of what a pendulum is. The cards are so lovely, I want to laminate them all. They are also fun, easy to use, and prompt questions that might otherwise not get asked. These cards help to point to the right questions to ask.

This pendulum is so well made. It is well balanced. The weight is evenly distibuted. The cards are nice for a beginner. The book is just an introduction to working with it. I suggest further reading. This is a great gift for anyone who wants to develop their intuition.
