Beautiful artist, beautiful work... thoughtfully written to share their gift.,

This review is from: The Art of Pregnancy Photography (Paperback)
Hard to believe Amherst Media hasn't published a pregnancy photography book before now, but Jennifer George made it worth the wait for it. I saw Jennifer speak in San Diego in 2004 and was inspired by her instantly. She's a professional on the exterior, but her heart seeps from her images and into her art. In addition to the simple beauty in the cover photo, the images inside the book represent far more of the digital artistry that I remember from her program in SD, and she shares the how-to's for their creation both during the session and in the post production. Any photographer who attends seminars and workshops should so appreciate the value and content of the knowledge in this book for the amazon price (and she's taken all the notes for you!) Outstanding...

I really learned alot from this book. I enjoyed it from start to finish.Their is alot of helpful ideas about posing and making sure the client is comfortable all at the same time. Chapter 8 was really interesting when showing you how to be creative to make your finished product. I really loved this book!

Artistic Images,

I continue to gain insight from this book. The contemplative, tranquil images inspire creativity, as one gains insight to the photographer's perspective and expertise. Her frankness in sharing technical skills both behind the camera and in her use of Photo-shop and marketing is extremely helpful to any professional or aspiring photographer. I highly recommend this book if you are interested in taking your photography to the next level or just searching for inspiration.

A Blessing in Artistry and Inspiration,
By
This review is from: The Art of Pregnancy Photography (Paperback)
I saw Jennifer George at Tri Community a few months ago. What an inspiration she is. A true artist encouraging others how to dig a little deeper and explore, to reach and do something new...to try something different. This book was on my list in my Amazon cart to buy. I bought it from Jennifer that night, truly blessed and amazed at "timing"...as I was shooting my 1st maternity session a few days later! As I have gone through this book, I love the simplicity, the specifics and detail. Again, I am very inspired by the artistry and stories or HOW and WHY...the realness of Jennifer to share transparently what is taking place and how she or the client may have felt or the emotion being manifested and most importantly the relationship developing. Respecting this special time in a woman's life and getting to be a part of it are a gift. I have been using this book and referencing it for many reasons. It is very helpful to me with the sketches of how the lighting was set up or where natural lighting was coming from, what to look for ect. Thank you AMHERST ...we need MORE Jennifer George books, she is a great teacher and her writing is easy to follow. Jennifer, CONGRATULATIONS on a WINNER of a BOOK. I will definately be recommending it to fellow photographers.
Blessings to you!

Great Book for Portrait Photographers,
By
This review is from: The Art of Pregnancy Photography (Paperback)
This book is a must for photographers wanting to specialize in pregnant families. Jennifer's descriptions are invaluable in the set up and photographing of pregnant moms and their families for both ambient and studio lighting. As a portrait photographer, I attended one of Jennifer's classes and purchased the book as well. Bravo, I have used her techniques and advice and created some beautiful portraits of new and expectant moms. She emphasizes the importance of a relaxing environment and working with the moms to get the best results. I highly recommend this book for photographers interested in this niche. Her final portraits are works of art and remind me of renaissance paintings.

Nice book,
This review is from: The Art of Pregnancy Photography (Paperback)
I thought the book will deal with photography itself, and how to take pictures and bring more good tips on studio photography , but that only a small portion of the book. The book deals mostly in marketing, it's nice but not what I was looking for

Very Good Textbook,

This review is from: The Art of Pregnancy Photography (Paperback)
This is a very good book that covers the topic of pregnancy photography. The book is richly illustrated with creative maternity images. What I especially liked the integration of the Fathers and siblings in many of the images.

Jennifer George's ART OF PREGNANCY PHOTOGRAPHY tells how to capture the pregnancy experience at all stages, showing how to photograph the mother-to-be either alone or with her partner, or with the whole family. Techniques and insights on poses and positions accompany tips for retouching, enhancing lighting and color, and interviews with pregnancy portrait photographers.

This review is from: The Art of Pregnancy Photography (Paperback)
This is one of the best "How To" photography books I have read. I found it practical in every aspect of how to approach the many aspects of maternity photography. This can be a touchy subject at times for a male photographer and Jennifer has inspired and helped to convince me to continue with this type of work. So this book helps on many levels with beautiful examples of her work throughout. She has many unique original compositional ideas and use of light with great fabrics and simple props. I highly recommend this book.
