This is one of the best rug hooking books in my library! The colors are the most clear color I have seen in any rug hooking book, and the rugs chosen are representative of many different and popular styles. The prose accompanying the pictorals is very moving, especially to those of us who enjoy the art and spirit of hooking with friends... The section on hooking and dying instruction is clear and concise and easy to follow. All in all, a very readable, accurate and interesting account of the newly revived art. A text, with pictures, that makes you want to begin, or continue hooking, immediately. Kudos to the author. A great representation of the rug hooking culture. An accurate definition, and "feeling" of the art.

My favorite quote from this book: "Burlap stinks." But the rugs in this book sparkle! They are whimsical, vivid and inspiring. The poem accompanying the gallery of rugs is captivating. As a beginner, I really appreciated the photos of rugs in progress. I tried to figure out rug hooking by myself, and I couldn't; after getting this book my first hooked rug is well on its way.

This book is a beautiful overview of rug hooking and a practical guide for beginners. It gives the basics every new rug hooker needs to know and serves as as inspiration for experienced hookers.

Hi, ive just ordered this book and would love to start a rug hooking project...im looking to make a large area rug at 4x6 and have had a terrible time trying to find kits - can anyone tell me where i could purchase one - can't wait to get the book, please help...thank you
