This review is from: The Art of Scrapbooking: If my husband can scrapbook... so can you! (DVD)
This was not only a great introduction/lesson on the basics, but the husband and wife team are quite funny and entertaining. I was pleased with the quality of the product given others I have seen on the market - and there's not a lot to choose from.

I'm not quite a beginner and still, I learned a lot. And though I'm not an avid scrapbooker, I am actually looking forward to buying a few of the tools they used to make scrapbooking a lot easier!

I would recommend this to you or even as a gift. Makes the hobby of scrapbooking a lot less intimidating and sets you on the right path, which is a lot of fun!

5.0 out of 5 stars Teach your husband to cut and paste!, February 12, 2008
By
This review is from: The Art of Scrapbooking: If my husband can scrapbook... so can you! (DVD)
The premise of this DVD is that "if your husband can do it, anybody can". Not that simple. Scrapbooking is an art and it takes a lot more than using a cutter and paper. I would not have confidence in my husband's creative juices to produce a good book. One needs pride to work diligently to produce a book that looks well and not cheesy.

This DVD is for a basic introductory to scrapbooking. Tamara Morrison teaches her husband Matt how to scrapbook. Although both a little stiff, they get the message across that scrapbooking is easy to do! They are filmed at a small table and Tamara guides Matt on proper usage of tools and paper. They both speak separately to the viewer about the ins and outs of scrapbooking.

You will learn some technical aspects about most important tools, a small paper cutter, undu adhesive remover for correcting mistakes, and a stamp-on adhesive, using vellum, and a good way to evenly place stick-ons, and how to work with stenciling. A few simple pages are included in the DVD features.

What is missing is the creativity of scrapbooking, that touch that most men do not have and probably won't ever have. Men can be encouraged to work technically, but I believe women have what is needed, the air for creativity and inspiration. Like I said, it is introductory and helpful if you have no idea where to start and what to do......Rizzo

5.0 out of 5 stars Fast, straightforward introduction to scrapbooking, December 7, 2007

This review is from: The Art of Scrapbooking: If my husband can scrapbook... so can you! (DVD)
According to some estimates, 25% of women now scrapbook. If you're new to this amazing hobby, this fun (and funny) DVD is a solid introduction. Husband and wife team create a page and step-by-step, viewers watch the process. There are cutaways to the husband reacting to various techniques and it's neat to hear his comments. This would also make a good gift for a husband whose wife scrapbooks so he can understand what she does when the kids are asleep. A good beginner's guide from a knowledgable moderator.
