Fun and delightful music, despite the title!,

Don't let the title mislead you! The music on The Art of Seduction has an innocent and joyful quality. The tone is of longing and delight in love rather than the lusty aspect that the title and the cover photo implies. Very danceable for those Mid-Eastern dancers looking for folk songs.

I purchased this based on some other reviews only to find every track has singing (I've never gotten used to the sound)and, unless you do forkloric type dance, there was NOTHING to move my hips!

Classic old style Oriental dance music,

I was surprised by the musical selections on this album in contrast with the title, but that doesn't mean I didn't love it. If you are only used to dancing to modern music - things from Miles Copeland's BDSS collections and such - this album will come as a shock to you. But if you are a fan of the grand dames of classic Oriental dance - Nagwa Faoud or Tahia Carioca, for example - this album will give you the challenge to dance like they did. (You can see such performances on You Tube - gorgeous!) This is what they were dancing to back then, and, I feel, far more challenging to the dancer than the pounding beats of today's music. This music is not folkloric or for folkloric dancing at all! This music is classic, and if you want to really thrill a native Middle Eastern crowd, dancing well to these will guarantee tips from the older crowd!

This CD is almost the same as "Night at the Casbah" which I already own. Same songs except one, just in a different order. Really don't like it for dancing. Too folksy. Guess if you knew actual folk dances it would be ok.
