I have been a student of traditional Chinese martial arts and shamanism for over twenty years. This book is not well researched, (or even minimally researched)and the techniques are obviously not based on any authentic shamanic practices. I have been a student of traditional Chinese martial arts and shamanism for over twenty years. This book is not well researched, (or even minimally researched)and the techniques are obviously not based on any authentic shamanic practices. I am under the impression the 'techniques' were created by the author, a hodgepodge of dance postures, simple martial arts postures, snippets of bits of legends, and so on. Numerous photographs of the author in a loincloth assuming dance and animal poses however, which didn't do much for me personally.
Scanning the other books which the author has written should have clued me in...no one can possibly master the numerous fields he apparently claims expertise in.
