From Library Journal
Harrison and Rosenfeld have put together a book that is great fun for art lovers and explorers. They have compiled a guide to 48 country sites with artistic displays throughout the Northeastern corridor, including historic and artistic communities like Old Lyme, Connecticut, and Woodstock, New York; architectural marvels designed by Frank Lloyd Wright; formal gardens, current artists' studios and foundries; outdoor sculpture displays; and even a cemetery. Most of the sites can be visited by car, bicycle, or on foot. At the end of the book, the authors list their sites according to artistic styles in painting and sculpture for art buffs who are seeking their favorite art periods and genres. The book also contains an index of artists and architects mentioned at the sites. An excellent companion for interesting detours and day trips; recommended for public libraries.
