5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing combination of ambient textures and poetry, December 12, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: The Art of Space (Audio CD)
Mark Mercury is known for writing electronic classical music, which is the genre which was used a lot by such musician as Isao Tomita. However Tomita was writing it pretty long time ago when sounds and patches were not that smooth. Moreover, he used the pieces of different classical composers and just arranged them on the synthesiser. Mark writes his own music. It is a special concoction of classical music harmonies and electronic ambient textures. This album amazed me by bringing into absolutely different dimensions. The sounds and the mood of this album are exceptional. They put you deep into the heart of purity of electronic music. Another best thing about this album is that several of the songs are combined with poetry. This is a really good and interesting move composer did. It makes it much more fun and enjoyeble.
