Very very useful,
By Patricia C (Toronto, ON Canada) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Art of Teaching Piano (Paperback)
Not only does this book cover technical aspects of piano playing and is straight forward and easy to read, but it also prepares prospective teachers for real-life challenges such as how to teach handicapped students and students who are determined but have very little confidence, among those other psychologically extra-demanding teaching situations. It equips piano educators with knowledge that they don't teach you in music school and I'd recommend it to anyone who is seriously considering teaching.

I purchased this book to expand my teaching arsenal. It proved to be so well organized and comprehensive, I recommended it to several of my more advanced students.
I encourage any teacher who is looking for a good all around reference book to check this one out.

In spite of its wide range & depth, this book is a pleasure to read. It can easily serve not only teachers but more mature and advanced students interested in expanding their knowledge, i.e. useful to both the professional teacher and serious amateur.

I purchased this book as a new piano teacher. It is very well organized and thorough, even covering topics such as composition styles through the years and teaching handicapped students. I recommend it to any piano teacher who is looking for a good reference book and guide.

I have been teaching piano for 5 years and this book has really helped me to explain some difficult concepts to students of every age, as well as assisting me in producing a better lesson plan. I have had the book for about a year and would recommend it to any piano teacher.
