Book Description

Sun Tzus the Art of War Plus April 1, 2005
This was Gary Gagliardi's first adaptation of Sun Tzu, written for the salespeople of his own software company that became one of the Inc. 500 fastest growing companies in America. The sales methods presented in this book follow Sun Tzu's principles line by line, with the complete text of The Art of War on the left-hand pages, and the sales adaptation, The Art of Sales, on the facing right-hand pages. Readers get both the proven philosophy that has survived 2,500 years and a practical sales adaptation of those ideas.

Editorial Reviews

Review

Two books in one, this retranslating of Sun Tzus classic warfare text, The Art of War, runs side by side with Gagliardis application of it to the business of selling. Both are excellent guides to their subject...the material it delivers provides the weapons any sales professional needs to achieve his or her mission and win. --F. JOHN REH, About.com Guide to Management

In these hectic and competitive times, you always need to know better ways to sell. The Art of War for the Sales Warrior is full of techniques that you can read about on your way to a sales call and use during your meeting. Ive already recommended it to my clients. --JAN WALLEN, Consultant and Author of ""CRM-Powered Selling"" Column

When you are in the trenches, The Art of War for the Sales Warrior gives you the strategy and tactics to pick your battles and win the war. A unique approach."" --MARJORIE BRODY, CSP, CMC, President, Brody Communications Ltd.

As a sales manager I've read lots of "How to Sell" books, gone to numerous seminars, etc. This gives your sales team some ancient lessons that can be used to get the appointment, convince them to buy, and keep their business. Get it for yourself, or get one for every member of you team.

The rules of war are amazingly applicable on the processes within the sales cycle. Having a military background this book helps me to connect my past to my present. Especially major accounts can be succesfully encountered by using the principles of war translated by Gary Gagliardi into effective measures. Understanding competition has never been put down so well. All aspects are covered. From Analysis to Planning to Positioning to Using the proper Questions...

Buy it, read it, be successful and convince your fellow salesmen. Also visit the Art of War website...for lots of useful tips and tricks.

5.0 out of 5 stars The hands-down winner among the "Sun Tzu Sales Books", April 3, 2009
By
Mike (San Jose, CA) - See all my reviews
(VINE VOICE)
This review is from: Art of War Plus The Art of Sales (Sun Tzus the Art of War Plus) (Hardcover)
I also own Gerald A. Michaelson's Sun Tzu Strategies for Selling: How to Use The Art of War to Build Lifelong Customer Relationships...which is an excellent book and one that I highly recommend...but if you must choose between the two, Gary Gagliardi's format is the most dynamic, the most inspiring, the most useful.

Why?

On the left side of the page, you get an English translation of "Art of War." On the right, Gagliardi's interpretation of how Sun Tzu's words apply to modern-day selling.

In April 2009, we are most certainly in a war. One day we'll look back on these days and "how we made it through them," but now...at the time I'm writing this review...we are IN THEM, waist-deep, fighting for survival. Make it through Gagliardi's book and you might "make it through" the current economic typhoon.

Sales is no joke. Professional selling demands a skilled warrior. Does that describe you? If it does, get this book. NOW.
