Editorial Reviews

Product Description

Few bands that have managed to weave a web of mystery around them. Very few have survived and kept going strong. When faced with the question 'which' people tend to mention American death-mongers with the likes of Morbid Angel, Deicide or Cannibal Coprpse. However, in the same breath, many have named Vader, perhaps the only band from Europe (Poland specifically) which has sustained it´s status for a number of years. In March 2005, Vader announced their record deal with Swedish Regain Records. They recorded this mini album at Hertz Studio. Includes the bonus track "Die Gin Psie)". --This text refers to an alternate Audio CD edition.

5.0 out of 5 stars This Was The War..., April 5, 2008
By Alejandro Ruiz (Thousand Oaks) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
That I was asking for! By far one of Vader's best releases. Whenever i listen to this EP, my speakers need to turned up all the way. Every song is perfect. Great blast beats, solos and the vocals are just killer. Vader is still at the top of their game and this EP definitely showcases that. Overall an excellent death metal release.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good EP, April 2, 2006
This review is from: The Art of War (Audio CD)
Vader's 2005 release, "The Art Of War," is only six songs and fourteen and a half minutes long; but it is only an EP. It's just a nice little snack to tide fans over until the band's next full length. Plus, these six songs are great! The first and fourth songs are pretty, interlude-type tracks, with wind wooshes and--what sounds like--an orchestra; but every other song is loaded with cast-iron riffs, searing solos, walloping drums, and vocals which are deep but still decipherable.

"This Is The War" boasts machine gun riffs and a rhythmic snare drum pattern. Next, "Lead Us!!!" (and the album closer, "Death In Silence") have a catchy beat with choppy, pounding riffs; and, lastly, track five, "What Colour Is Your Blood?" builds well, from a mid-tempo chug to a blinding, buzzsaw guitar attack.

For anyone who is unsure about how death metal should be played, proceed directly to "The Art Of War." It makes for a great listen, and it's also doubtlessly the best EP to be released in all of 2005.
