Powerful words,

This is a very powerful collection of interviews about nature and man's troubled relationship with the earth, by some of the best natural history writers in the business. Taken from the Art of the Wild writing workshops in Northern California, the pieces are integrated with great music and images to truly evoke the philosophy of these writers. While some of the writers skirt a little too close to new age mysticism, they all share a deep love of the natural world. A great video not only for the natural history reader, but also for the more casual nature lover who might be looking for a different voice or perspective.

I have found this film useful in my Literature and the Environment course. Many of the contemporary writers we read in my college-level course are shown discussing their work and philosophies. The film provides a good introduction to the important and popular literary genre of Nature Writing.
