This review is from: The Art of William Edmondson (Hardcover)
Edmondson was one of the few artists ever to be led into his work by pure inner vision and his work shows the extraordinary power of genuine and uninfected inspiration so rare to us these days. A wonderful gift for anyone interested in the power of stone.

I read this book with great interest as I had not known about Edmondson's work nor about him or his background. The story of this humble man is so well told that it took me back to Nashville where my parents were raised. I had a cousin who was a sculptor and college teacher and I remember that she use to mention this man who made the most unusual gravestones and that her friend, Louise McQuire, thought his work was tremendous. It must have been Edmondson. The book is well written and copious with illustrations. For anyone who wants to learn more about self expression, real humility, working with simple materials and instruments, this book will inspire them and show them what true dedication is. Love the images. would definitely buy again. One or two of the chapters seemed a little amateurishly written. But, I bought it mostly to learn more about Edmondson and to see his works. I was disappointed that a section of the pages were "corrugated" looking. Some kind of defect. But, I was so intent on beginning to read it I decided not to return it and to view the defect as part of the "folk art" quality of Edmondson. (Lame, I know)

I was interested in learning more about Wm. Edmondson and his art after visiting the museum in Nashville displaying his art. The book was very insightful and interesting. The book arrived in good condition.
