Art and soul of Athena, December 9, 2009
If this attractive woman looks familiar to you she should be because she is the lead singer of Kut Klose. Athena Cage decided to do her own solo album but it was shelved by Priority Records in 2001. Its sad too because this album is actually nice.
I was kind of skeptical because it starts off with some fast songs(Kut Klose were known for their slow songs) like All I Need Is Me and Hey Hey(first single). These songs are not bad but they weren't what I would expect from Athena Cage. Until You Come Back, Dream Lover, He Changed His Mind and In The Mood are what I was expecting from Athena Cage. R Kelly joins her on Make U Wanna and Let Me Know is nice also. There are only two tracks I really dont care for. Hey Hey and Turn You Out get a skip from me.
Conclusion: Athena Cage's The Art Of A Woman is another great R&B album in the long list of tight R&B albums that got shelved. Her vocals are beautiful and the production is pretty good. Its a pity when record labels can release garbage like Sean Kingston, Sasha Fierce and the pathetic R&B albums that are out now but will put Trina Broussard, Athena Cage, Nicci Gilbert and Monica's All Eyez On Me album. It shows that the cockroaches that run the music industry are deliberately trying to destroy the genre's they are controlling. If you can get a copy of her album then do it.
Standouts: UNTIL YOU COME BACK, HE CHANGED HIS MIND, DREAM LOVER, IN THE MOOD, MAKE U WANNA and ALL OR NOTHING.

Song Bird, March 2, 2007
Athena Cage has come full circle with her image and her voice. From the days of Kut Klose to duets with Keith Sweat this Song Bird has by far taken the world by storm. This album has her at her best and that is outstanding the world should look to hear from her soon.
