About the Author
Shaun McNiff is internationally recognized as a founder and leading figure in the arts and healing field. University Professor at Lesley University in Cambridge, Massachusetts, he is past president of the American Art Therapy Association and the author of several other books including Art As Medicine, Trust the Process, and Creating with Others .

McNiff's writing style is very dense and hard to grasp. But if you can persevere, he has had some interesting experiences using art as a therapeutic technique.

I found Dr, McNiff's book to be an excellent explication of the healing powers of the creative arts. I am an pastellist, singer, and have been a dancer in the past. Dr. McNiff knows what he is talking about. I know what he is talking about. I know what it feels like to be made whole by using paper and crayons, or by singing songs, or by writing a poem. It feels like - woohoo! ;-)
