First step to being a man is looking like one. It may seem easy and carefree to the common eye, but is actually a discipline. Some men are lazy and it shows. These aren't real men, therefore they represent no challenge to true men.
After you look like a man, you'll need the proper accessories and items. This list will give you a very basic idea, but should not be considered the end all.
The second list will concentrate on Philosophy of being a man. Since books are great, but time consuming. we're going to learn the philosophy the fun a modern way(and being a man is also about being modern): through movies.

"Too many men don't take proper care of themselves. And bad breath is key. Brush, rinse, and use a good mouth wash. Girls and your friends will appreciate it."
"You'll always want to keep a blanket neatly tucked in your trunk. Believe me, your girl will appreciate it. Try and keep it clean too(very important)."
