I have the larger embroidery spools (1100 yards?) with locking bottoms and they don't fit as well as in the product pictures. I have to space them so that they will fit. You can see in the picture I supplied that you can kind of fit 40 spools or so, but a good number of their bases overlap so that if you pull out one, you will disrupt one next to it. There is an indentation on both sides of the inside trays (with the sticks to put your spools on), that's a little annoying - I probably could have fit a couple more spools in if it wasn't there.

But for the most part, if you can live with it not being perfectly neat in the box - the case does its job... I had to write the number of the thread on the top of the spool so that I can identify them. I guess if I wanted to, I might be able to put some of them upside down to fit more spools in and have a cleaner fit - perhaps I'll do that if I get more thread.

I have different sizes and types of general purpose thread, and I love this box for keeping them together. I don't have space for a rack on the wall or on a work table, so this is great to pull out while I'm working and close up and put away when I'm not. No, I can't use every single slot on it because I have different width spools and they don't all fit neatly, but they still all perch in there just fine. No cracks or problems with it so far.

I have so much thread! I used to keep it on dowels inserted into boards hung on the wall but the thread became way too dusty. So I ordered four of these thread boxes. Since they are clear plastic, you can see what you need and the thread is clean. I organized by color and am storing the boxes in my craft room closet. If you want to transport the boxes, they have handles.

This box is not functional AT ALL. Pay very close attention to the product photo. You will see they have small spools (like Gutterman) mixed in between the larger sppols of thread. I use only one type of thread, Sulky. I use the normal size rolls (sorry don't know how many yards of thread on each one). They are uniform in shape and will not fit side by side in this unit. It is very frustrating. I had one of the wooden style thread organizers and got tired of seeing the thread on my limited work space. I asked for this for a Christmas present and was immediately dissapointed. If you only use the tiny spools of thread like Gutterman, then you will be happy. If you use a wide variety of sizes of spools, you will probably be happy as well. However, if you machine is tempermental like mine and only likes one type of thread, you will more than likely be dissapointed. I was looking forward to having more storage room and all I ended up with was a plastic box that held exactly the same amount as my wooden stand. Had the manufacturer made the box just a bit wider (like an inch), they easily could have accomodated many users. The peg system is poorly designed. The pegs sit right next to the edge and will only accomodate the small spools. Regular size spools will require spacing them every other peg. The box isn't very expensive so I doubt I will return it. I am very frustrated though.

It is a great way to keep your threads organized and kept together. It is simply a thread box... nothing glamorous about it. I thought that the title "thread box" made it clear that it was a box, not a box filled with thread, and my product arrived within two days in perfect condition.

I agree with the other the reviewers -- this a plain, functional thread box. No bells and whistles; it's a thread box. This thread box keeps dust off your threads. They are easy to access; the clear lid helps you spot the spool you want quickly. The closed box with handle makes it portable.

I have six of the boxes within the Super Satchel series. They all work well. I love that they're stackable. That gives me a little more flexibility as my sewing space evolves. All have sturdy construction.

Best thread spool bin ever, I love it! It keeps the spools clean and organized. I bought one for myself, then I bought one for my sister as well, because it really worth it! I think is the best complement for any tidy seamstress. superb!

Problems I've had with this box:
- If i turn it and i've stored any bobbins sometimes they fall out because there is a small gap between the lid and the spokes.
Otherwise the box was in good condition when it arrived and has remained a fine purchase.
I would recommend it if you have a lot of thread that you want to store.
