Its as cute as it appears online and works well.

Also when I tried to pull it out, the entire stem/leaf portion, basically all that's green, popped out of the dirt, and I had a really difficult time putting it back.
Anna
I have used it numerous times already and I hope it lasts me a long time.

I was so excited about this, I did a lot of research, and I thought this was the perfect tea infuser for me. I like to use about two teaspoons of loose tea per cup, so I wanted something with a large area for the tea. This would work perfectly, it's at least 3 times larger than my biggest tea ball, but that's where the awesomeness of this item ends.

When mine got here the leaf was already torn. Where the stem is straight, there is a solid wire in it, to assist you in pulling the "dirt" out of the pot. That wire had poked through and torn the stem. It's unfixable. Also when I tried to pull it out, the entire stem/leaf portion, basically all that's green, popped out of the dirt, and I had a really difficult time putting it back. Once I did get it back, it wouldn't stay seated in the dirt. It's a circular problem. The dirt fits really tightly into the pot portion, which is great, until it becomes time to get it out. I have a feeling that if it had held together that when I actually went to use it, it would have made tea leaves go everywhere, making a huge mess.

Luckily Amazon has pretty easy returns. This one is going back. I'll be on the lookout for a new tea infuser. It's just so difficult to find ones that hold large amounts of tea!

I bought one of these for myself (to test) and then a few more as gifts. Overall, this makes a great gift for any tea lover who likes to mix their own blends. It's very aesthetically pleasing and appears reasonably durable too.

Pros:
-It looks great sitting in a cup
-Very large: holds a few table spoons if you want to brew a full pot
-Handles going through the dish washer like a champ
-None of the blends I use escape the filter (but I haven't tried anything very fine)
Cons:
-Can sometimes be difficult to open when hot (best let it cool off)

Like others before me, I received the infuser with the leaf split in half at the point where the internal metal wire ends. This is of course due to the fact that the product is in a box that is too short such that the leaf is bent in half from day 1! I'm quite disappointed that the company decided to save a few dollars by using a slightly smaller box than necessary...

I drink a lot of Roobis tea which has fine leaves. A little bit of the leaves get out but not much. This is easy to clean and looks so cute in my cup. Having a large tea strainer/infuser is important because you need the leaves to have room to expand for better flavor release.

The top just pops in and out. Do not pull on the green leaf. Just lift from the side of the brown part.

I was a little disappointed that the bottom of mine is slightly dented. I did not realize this until after I used it. No real biggie but if you plan to give this as a gift inspect it first.

This is big enough for 3+ tablespoons of loose leaves (I tried to packed 4 tbsps in but it's probably too full). Anyway, I think it is very cute(looks like a little plant growing in you cup), functional and easy to clean. The price is a little bit high as a tea infuser but I think it's worth it as a treat. I wish it comes with a bottom dish or a little something to hold the used infuser though.

The cap doesn't have any locking systems or threads to secure it, but it seems to be tight enough to hold the bottom in place yet not too hard to take the top off for filling. It's working great now but I can't say how durable it is for long run. I'm not using it everyday so I don't how long will it hold up.

Bottom line, It is a good gift for tea lovers.

I bought this optimistically, and it worked pretty well for about a month or two, until the stem broke off. My biggest complaint about the infuser itself is the size of the holes and the slits on the rubber stopper. Tea leaves constantly made their way into the water, and I often had a tea leaf layer at the bottom of my cup (which I'm not a fan of). And then the stem broke off (with very little force - I do not abuse my kitchen gadgets), rendering the entire thing useless, since it required a pair of tongs to fetch the device from my tea cup. If you're looking for a long-lasting infuser, I do not recommend this. If you don't mind chunky tea, and are willing to replace it in just a few months, go for it.

You have to sort of use your fingernail to ease the brown top cover off--it's not a twist-off type of top, and if you try pulling it off by the stem the stem will pull off completely (though this is easy to push back in). Also, not great for very fine loose-leaf teas. Still very cute, and holds lots of tea!!
