Wonderful piece of history,
This review is from: Tooty's Corner (Hardcover)
Hi Mikie,I met you on the pages of Tooty's Corner. I grew up in northern Indiana and spent all of my summers with my cousins in Chicago. Your wonderful book kindled my own childhood memories of those great Chicago neighborhoods and the people who lived there. What a fun read! Ah, Chicago, Chicago ........ its my kinda' town!

Double Mistake,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Arte Povera: Movements in Modern Art (Paperback)
I ordered the book "Tooty's Corner", and I received the title "Arte Povera". I was told of a "picking" error and the correct title would be sent out. Again, I get the Arte Povera. Now I have my refund, two copies of a book I did not order, and have to start over. I see they still have an error in the numbering system and the wrong book is listed. So much for following up to correct a problem.

I picked up this book... last week on a recommendation from a friend of mine. Talk about enjoying something. I can relate to these times and these guys. I grew up in the 50'S but we hung around a movie theater. I hope he writes a sequel and doubles the amount of pages. 3 cheers for the book....

The Author Michael Maione-book called Tootys Corner, was absolute the most exciting books I've read, the book talks about life on the South side of Chicago-I want to applaud Michael Maione on a job well done. Also as a reader of Michael's work, I should ask the question, is there another book coming out in the future? Readers love your work!

Lets go back to the 50's,

I went to a book signing in Evanston a few months back where Mike Maione and some of the guys were signing books. It is a fun crowd, they really enjoy what they are doing. The author said something that day, which I will never forget, because I grew up in that time period. He said you know they were the golden years, not today. He is right they were.

Characters are alive I loved it,

This review is from: Tooty's Corner (Hardcover)
Just bought the book in Boston at a Booksigning wish it was longer. I read it in 2 hours. I know I will be reading it again and again. Love the Characters, the Richie Rags, Richie Cats etc. I knew the same guys growing up on my corner in Philadelphia in the 1960's. The nice thing also is that there is no violence in the book. How refreshing.....

It was like going back to my corner in 1957 in New York. I smell a TV Series, it would not surprise me. Just remember you read about that here on Amazon.com.

Very true. Loved the stories, the language. I see this as a TV series quite possibly, a Play. Hope someone picks up this one. The characters are alive.

Outstanding slice of human history,
By A Customer
This review is from: Tooty's Corner (Hardcover)
This wonderful, warm re-telling of youth is a great lesson in human history -- a history that isn't lived on corners anymore, but has a lot of the same childhood elements of today. A great bridge between the past and the present.
