5.0 out of 5 stars Arctic Adventure--great frozen entertainment
I have enjoyed all the Artemis Fowl books I have ever read, but this one I think I found the most riveting. The pace is fast, the characters real, and the events plausible. I don't want to give away the plot, but if you like fantasy/mystery, this is a good choice for you.

3.0 out of 5 stars Eh, Three stars
It is not as good as the first book, which is expected, but is still pretty interesting. The novel is choppy and switches between locations and characters multiple times a chapter. However, the action and suspense doesn't stop or even slow down throughout the course of the novel. This novel may seem really scifi, but the characters mythical roles are of little...

4.0 out of 5 stars The Book with Pictures, December 7, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Artemis Fowl: The Arctic Incident Graphic Novel has the same storyline as the book. The art is good and characters are easy to see against the backgrounds. There is a lot of action in this book, and so the graphic novel makes it easier to see the actions as they happen.

For those who never heard of Artemis Fowl, you've been missing out. Look up the books for a more detailed review. The first book in the series is titled simply Artemis Fowl. The publishers just reprinted the books with new covers, so they should be easy to find. It's a great series.

4.0 out of 5 stars Michael S. Artemis Fowl: Arctic Incident, March 26, 2007
A Kid's Review
I liked Artemis Fowl: Arctic Incident very much. The plot was well made and the characters were really memorable. What I liked about the plot was that I couldn't tell what was going to happen next. This book was very well written for a teenage level.
Eventhough the book was well written, the author could have been more descriptive. When ever the author introduces a character he sometimes doesn't mention all that you need to know for that character to really understand the book. Sometimes. Besides that, I thought the book was very good.
I would not recommend this book to anybody under the High school/Middle school level reading level. For that reason, the book contains many challenging words and is, at parts, hard to read. This book was very good and kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time I read it. It is truely one of my favorite.

4.0 out of 5 stars Book Two, November 7, 2011
Another solid addition to the Artemis Fowl series!

Here, in BOOK TWO, we encounter many of the same characters, but this time, fairies and Artemis are working together.

Artemis receives a message from the Russian Mafiya indicating that Artemis's father has been found and, should Artemis want him back, it will cost him quite a bit of cash. So, Artemis devises a plan, but will require fairy aid to carry it out.

The fairies are under an attack of their own - a mudperson is trading items with the fairies, items that could threaten the LEP and the safety of the fairy world. So, the fairies realize they just might need a mudperson mastermind on their side.

The wit, humor and pace of the first book continue seamlessly into book two. I love that each character of these books has their own role to play and little story arcs along the way. And it's just possible that in the cold regions of Russia, the ice around Artemis's heart, and the chill between him and Holly, starts to melt... just a little.

Like book one, I listened to the audio book, narrated by Nathaniel Parker. I really think this enhances my enjoyment of the book as I just love Parker's narration and characterization.

If you liked the first book, I think you'll enjoy book two. If you wanted a little more "humanization" of Artemis from book one, then I think you'll find it started to ebb in during this installment.

3.0 out of 5 stars Eh, Three stars, November 26, 2010
This review is from: The Artemis Fowl #2: Arctic Incident Graphic Novel (Paperback)
It is not as good as the first book, which is expected, but is still pretty interesting. The novel is choppy and switches between locations and characters multiple times a chapter. However, the action and suspense doesn't stop or even slow down throughout the course of the novel. This novel may seem really scifi, but the characters mythical roles are of little importance. All in all, I give the book three stars, because it really is a good story but gets kind of confusing jumping back and forth between places.

This review is from: The Artemis Fowl #2: Arctic Incident Graphic Novel (Paperback)
Story told well by Colfer and Donkin and the art and colouring by Rigano and Lamanna is excellent. Easier on the eye than the black and white graphic novels and the complicated jigsaw pictures of the manga series. Marvelous tool for visual learners.

5.0 out of 5 stars Artemis Fowl Graphic Novel #2, December 6, 2009
A Kid's Review
This book is awesome! It gives people a way to see The People as the author wants you to. It includes most of the real book but not all of it. The thing I think some people will not understand is that at the end of each chapter is a column of fairy language that says AF (Artemis Fowl). I would sugest this book to any Artemis Fowl fan.
