This is a handbook for patients who suffer with the pain of Arthritis. By far, the most common type of arthritis is Osteoarthritis. Osteoarthritis is a painful condition of the joints that affects over 40 million people in this country alone. The book explains what Osteoarthritis is. It then reviews all the available treatments. This book serves as a guidebook for the patient as well as the physician who cares for the patient suffering from arthritis. This book gives advise to ensure control of their pain and at the same time decreasing the chances of side effects from medications used to control pain. It also talks about neutriceutical products that have been found to be useful for arthritis pain control like Glucoseamine and SAM-e.

About the Author
Howard N. Kaye, M.D., FACR, received his B.A. degree in Arts and Sciences from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana. He received his M.D. degree from the Indiana University School of Medicine in 1978. He later completed his studies in Rheumatology at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. Dr. Kaye is Board Certified in both Internal Medicine and Rheumatology. He has been treating and teaching patients with Osteoarthritis for the last twenty years and is a Fellow of the American College of Rheumatology.

Dr. Kaye's book helped me and my family so much to understand my arthritis. There is so much confusing information in the news about side effect of many medications. This book made the treatment options very understandable. Highly recommended.

This was a great book because it explained to me what type of arthritis I had. It then went on to explain how to manage the pain of arthritis safely. This book is also the ideal handbook to be used as a reference when you are talking to your doctor or pharmacist.
