5.0 out of 5 stars Very practical - physically and mentally, October 15, 2009

This review is from: Arthritis--Stop Suffering, Start Moving: Stop Suffering, Start Moving, Everyday Exercises for Your Body and Mind (Paperback)
I really love this book. It offers grounded and practical suggestions about how to get moving when nothing else seems to work. It helps with attitudes and perceptions about having this condition -- the author also suffers with arthritis. It's hopeful to hear how she worked her way from having no mobility to being able to resume normal, joyful living.

I've found this book to be a gem as I deal with my own rheumatoid arthritis.

Darlene Cohen has lived about 30 years with rheumatoid arthritis and still looks great, has tons of energy and helps thousands of people. This book gives you an emotional and mental framework for taking care of yourself, reducing pain and increasing mobility. Then she gives you hundreds of exercises and stretches you can do to actually get moving.

Darlene and I are big fans of each other and have taught wellness workshops and healing events together. My book, The Art of Getting Well: Maximizing Health When You Have a Chronic Illness, draws heavily on this book and on my interviews with her.
