Bought this item for my wife because she likes cheese planes. It was a gamble but she found the handles a little gaudy. If the design was more simplified and less deep it would be more attractive. Some of the detail seemed to be lost in the casting. The pot within the design seemed to detract from the aesthetic.

I expected the blades to have a little more substance and the connections between the blades and the knife handles to be a bit more refined. The knife and plane should serve it's function adequately and therefore the three stars.
