I looked at a lot of cheese domes, and this is by far the prettiest one out there. It is so pretty in person. It is the perfect size for a cheese ball or cheese about the size of a CD.

This cake dish is a little smaller than expected as other reviewers have stated. It barely works for our intended purpose, but it is just large enough. My wife and I are very satisfied with the beauty and construction of this lovely dish. We're using it to house some soap sculpted flowers and the display is stunning.
As long as you measure your needs accurately and a bit conservatively, this footed plate and dome will satisfy the most discriminating of buyers.

This is a lovely addition to the collection~however, it could be a little larger in order to accommodate a full size cake!

I bought this item primarily for the glass dome to use with an 8 inch Anchor Hocking glass pedestal that was sold without a dome. I was pleasantly surprised that this was a nice heavy glass and not too delicate to hold up to everyday use. The grape patterned pedestal is nice, too, though. I'm sure I'll find a use for it.

Not only is this cake stand attractive, but it also fills a real need for me. I sometimes make small cakes (e.g., six inches) when I'm expecting just a few people, and it's nice to have an appropriately sized serving piece. It's also good for serving a pile of cookies or small pastries, etc., and the glass dome helps keep everything fresh and secure. Between uses, I display it in my home - it doesn't take up much room, and it's too pretty to hide away.

We gave this as a wedding gift. They had it on their registry elsewhere. I was glad to find it here! They are enjoying this already. :)

The recipient was very happy with this item and it was the same dome that was on her registry (only cheaper through Amazon)! The base is very detailed, yet tastefully ornate.

It ended up being a lot smaller than I expected. I just have not found it as useful as I hoped. It was very pretty though.
