This cube-shaped salt-and-pepper set is a lovely accessory to display alongside other Arthur Court magnolia-design serveware but is versatile enough to pair with any formal tableware. Resembling vintage perfume bottles more than tableware, each shaker is fashioned out of heavy, chunky glass in a 1-1/2-inch square shape and stands 2-1/4 inches tall. The screw-on lids have a brilliant luster that captures the elegance of antique silver; however, they are actually made of hand-polished aluminum, which is much easier for today's busy hostesses to maintain. Lids are hand-crafted in the shape of open magnolia blossoms and each has three drilled holes so they are interchangeable for seasoning with either salt or pepper. The lids are not dishwasher-safe but clean easily with mild soap and water--and, because the shakers are breakable, it is advisable to wash them by hand as well. This set makes a wonderful shower gift for the bride who has registered for other pieces in the magnolia collection.
