It really is worth 5 stars.. when I got it I was impressed that it does look even better than the picture, is very sturdy, and a functional work of art for your kitchen. I almost passed on it because of the price, but I couldn't stand that old plastic one we had that just didn't cut it - didn't look too good and tipped over. So this was an investment, a very functional piece that will be on the counter all the time, and definitely be a conversation piece for guests!! I'll be looking into acquiring more Arthur Court items, excellent quality. One other note, in the photo above, the bananas must be really short because they are very high over the fruit in the bowl, whereas our regular size bananas hang down much lower (don't laugh, I'm really talking about the bananas here!). But the hook is just the right height and I will probably put shelled nuts in the bowl instead of fruit.

This item is very well made; very heavy and doesn't topple over like so many other similar products. One thing not mentioned is that there are small rubber pieces that help hold the bowl in place without being scratched. There are only 2 screws to deal with, so you won't take forever putting it together. So easy and adorable! It is expensive, but so worth it. I even bought one for my hard-to-shop-for Grandparents!

Had this for over a year with two small boys. The fruit bowl keeps this from toppling even when my two are climbing up on the counter to get bananas. My children ask for fruit more because I keep it out on the counter and they love getting taking the monkey's bananas.

The glass bowl is well protected by the rubber stoppers inside and the metal frame. Mine does not have so much as a chip even with two toddlers being able to reach it on the counter.

Expensive but durable.

If you want to own the BEST, buy THIS one! I have 10" bananas hanging on it now and they curve out so it does not touch any fruit in the bowl. The bowl is 9 1/2" round. This is an impressive piece!

Buy this bowl. It is worth the money!! Everyone that sees this bowl loves it. Even Grandma loved this bowl (and she hates everything). This is truly a perfect gift for anyone. Wears well also, mine is a few years old now and still looks like new. GREAT ITEM!!

This is perfect! Finally, a banana holder that holds bananas without tipping over! And, it's charming too...own a piece of art designed by Arthur Court, that is sure to be a conversation piece for all who visit your home.

It just doesn't get any better than this. After I got past it just being too darling, it proved itself immediately to be not only great looking, but functional far beyond my expectations.
I was prepared to purchase bananas every other day if I had to.
I didn't care.
I wanted those monkeys!
I didn't have to. Not only was the "life" of the bananas extended, but the bowl is large enough for plenty of fruit.
Now what I do with 1 banana?
I found that I can stick 1 banana under the lower monkey's arm pit I believe it is. The stem hooks right up under there.
Everyone that see's this piece, stops mid sentence and giggles "Oh that is so cute"!
Even men.
It is very sturdy. Not a remote chance of tipping.

I put this on our wedding registry because of how fun it looked while still being classy and sturdy. I didn't think we would get it with it being a little pricey, but it was the first thing plucked off the list! It is a wonderful holder, and I always get comments about it from visitors to our home.

I didn't think I would pay that much to purchase it if we didn't get it as a wedding gift, but now that we have I know it is worth every penny!

I love it. A great purchase. Quality and function. Makes me smile.

I've been looking at this banana holder for YEARS! I have seen it selling upward of $136, and when I started seeing it reduced to $99 on various websites, I knew it was time to purchase it. I started wondering if it might be discontinued soon. Oh yeah-- $99 for a "banana holder". But it's so whimsical and so cute! I decided to take the plunge--you won't be disappointed, the Arthur Court items are almost always well crafted and good quality. I love it!
