This book teaches a lot of important saftey steps in the event of a fire. My preschool child really enjoys the book and had fun placing the stickers on the appropriate spots. The only drawback is that not enough room is allowed for the stickers, making it impossible to see all the words once the stickers are in place.

My five year old just loves to read and is reading at a 4th grade level which makes it difficult to find books to interest her because as the older a child gets, the more questionable some of the reading becomes, but this did the trick, there were not words like: stupid, fat, dumb, but it still had a story line.

When I picked this book up from the library, I was worried that it might just be a book version of episode from the episode "D.W. All Fired Up" on the "Arthur" television series. Fortunately, it isn't. It's a unique and beautifully illustrated story about fire safety that teaches children what they need to know and also manages to entertain in the process. D.W. fans will love seeing D.W. in her firefighter's hat as the "fire boss" as well as when she was just a little baby. The story is generally kept pleasant throughout, without arguing between Arthur and D.W. It also has a surprising and satisfying ending.

Great book about fire safety. I used this for my mixed class of 4-6 year old children when we did fire safety. This book was the perfect set up for learning about drills and how to handle them. The kids each had a turn being the "fire boss" and they loved it. It was a very well received lesson and I think that this book is great for preschool and kindergarten age children.

Arthur and DW are well known in my household and have been for years.

I particularly like this book because it is not only informative regarding fire safety, but helps little ones alleviate the fear of fire drills.

The text is easy to read, the illustrations are excellent and the storyline is understandable and interesting.

This is a great book for toddlers, as starting point for fire safety. It'd make an excellent tie in for fire safety day, when the fire department makes an appearance at their school.
From working with a group of preschoolers, on fire safety day, it became clear they were frightened. Though the firemen tried not to scare them, many still were. This book would've been the ticket!!!!

Great learning tool for new readers. My triplets enjoyed this Arthur book and compared it to the fire drill they have in school.
