4.0 out of 5 stars Short and Melancholy Tale April 21, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I was expecting something very different from this story but what I discovered was a sort of sweet, sad moment in the life of an A.I. Here is an intelligence that yearns to love and be loved, but is seen as a tool- the emotional equivalent of a food processor. Humans see it as something to be used and maintained, not interacted with on a thinking, feeling level. I think it is an accurate portrayal of how humans would treat A.I.s, but I was hoping it would be able to overcome this bias and find love. Perhaps that is silly of me, but I was rooting for it!

4.0 out of 5 stars Fun Light (Erotic) Short Story February 17, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
A fun light short story in the erotic venue. The story is exactly what it aimed to be. Was good enough to make me see what else the writer has.

4.0 out of 5 stars Sad November 18, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This is not really erotica, although there is a sex scene, of sorts. I was expecting a light, perhaps fluffy, piece and got so much more. It is actually a sad little story of unrequited love and a love that is destined to stay forever unknown. The ending twist although effective left me feeling sad. It is a well written story, but not a happy one. I doubt I will ever read it again because the ending will always make me feel sad.

5.0 out of 5 stars Can we say memorable? March 28, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This was just a kick in the head. I do not wish to spoil it, but it isn't going to be what you think and the concept is hysterical.

4.0 out of 5 stars Bittersweet with hopefully more to come. February 26, 2014
By Elisa
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This author is very good at making you care about the characters. You may have noticed from the other reviews that they are not happy about the sad ending. Why would they be upset if they didn't care about the characters? Answer; they wouldn't. In other words, in a very, very, oh so very short amount of words, this author made me feel a lot more than other books I have read that were much longer with more character development. And honestly, there wasn't time for much character development at all. I can't even figure out how she did it, but I'm very impressed.

I can't wait to read the story that this is the lead in for!! Brava!

1.0 out of 5 stars short and no real ending January 22, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
The story started out ok, but it stopped abruptly. It was like the end of a chapter instead of the end of a story. Hate that.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wait, what?
I have one, serious, huge complaint. It's a short story that would make an awesome book.

I was all settled in, ready for a journey, and got a trip around the block. Read more

2.0 out of 5 stars It's a robot
Although the writing of this wasn't too bad, I struggled to get past the fact that one of the main characters was a machine. It really was't my cup of tea.

3.0 out of 5 stars short
It is really quite brief. The sex was fairly blasé. However, the sad little twist right at the end redeems it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Liked it very much, but the ending was bittersweet
The writer did a good job of involving the reader quickly into the situation and the story. The ending left me...bereft (for lack of a better word) for a few days. Read more

More About the Author

Erica lives in New Zealand--otherwise known to the rest of the world as: that pretty scenic place where they made the Lord of the Rings and Hobbit movies.  She spends most of her time writing (also procrastinating), reading, hanging with her long suffering husband and frolicking with the neighbour's cat. As a writer Erica delights in plotting evil and writing it all down for others to read and enjoy/despair-muahahahahahahahaha!

Oh, and she also likes LOLcats :)
