5.0 out of 5 stars THIS BAND ROCKS!!!!
This band is awesome---live especially!!! The drummer is a maniac on stage. Lots of energy,in your face, etc....Wish they would tour with Nashville Pussy again. If they come to you town, go see them!!!!

1.0 out of 5 stars lead singer?
Starts out great, driving guitars and then the lead "singer" opens his mouth and you wonder who told this guy he could sing? Too bad as they could be onto something with some talent up front.

5.0 out of 5 stars ACID SWAMP ROCK, June 7, 2006
This review is from: Artimus Pyledriver (Audio CD)
This band rules live and you can feel the power through their studio debut. Imagine Brian Johnson from AC/DC fronting the band Scissorfight and you'll get the idea. Great drinking tunes to listen to while you're roughing it on a camping trip in the deep woods. This album will make your mom's face melt! Rock it out!

5.0 out of 5 stars Southern Metal done right, November 30, 2006
This review is from: Artimus Pyledriver (Audio CD)
For fans of Southern Rock or Southern Metal this album is a must. Musically it is in the same vein as Down, Corrosion of Conformity, and Clutch and just as good as all of them. Yes the singer does sound like Brian Johnson. And, yes the drummer is amazing live. But then again the whole band is amazing live!

Definitely a 5-star debut by some good 'ol boys from down South (Atlanta, GA). Turn it up!

4.0 out of 5 stars Artimus Pyledriver - self-titled (DRT Entertainment), April 5, 2010

This review is from: Artimus Pyledriver (Audio CD)
Southern metal band's only CD they'd ever managed to release. Another long-lost title I had totally forgotten about. Had a friend of mine recently mention this disc to me, but I sort of remember like tracks like "Gone To The Mountain", the in-your-face "Ride On", "Dirty Road White Girl", the rocking (!) "Shaggin' *ss" and "Get Some". Line-up: Dave Slocum - vocals, Jimmy Hall & Damon Goldsmith - guitars, Michael Falkner - bass and Artimus Pyledriver - drums. Sort of sound like perhaps a 'heavier' Molly Hatchet. Should draw in fans of Alabama Thunderpussy, Clutch and Acid King.

4.0 out of 5 stars "Pure Southern Metal" - This One's a Little Heavy - But Good!!!!, March 9, 2009
This review is from: Artimus Pyledriver (Audio CD)
This group apparently took their name from the "great" drummer of the "original" Lynyrd Skynryd Band - Atimus Pyle. Artimus Pyle was & still is one of the greatest drummers of all times. He especially did an excellent job with the "original" Lynyrd Skynyrd Band. Now to this band, well, the way I understand it, they are from the Atlanta area. They describe themselves as "Pure Southern Stomp A..." Their sound is "kinda heavy", but it's good. The CD contains 10 great songs. Some of the highlights include: "Swamp Devil", "Gone to the Mountain", "Dixie Fight Song", "Dirt Road White Girl", "High Life", and "Up the Creek". If you like a "heavy sound" you should like this one. Thanks!!!!

1.0 out of 5 stars The Real Artimus Pyle Should Sue These Clowns, February 13, 2008
This review is from: Artimus Pyledriver (Audio CD)
The music is decent at best. Nothing original going on here. The singer just sucks!! I actually thought it was a joke when he started "singing".
Hard to take these guys seriously.
